How to play Lotto by text

Find out how you can play the lottery without being by a pc, or near a lottery retailer. Playing the lottery by text is simple once you know how, and very convenient.

Before you can play any of The National Lottery’s games by text you must first open an online account. Once opened, if you add your mobile number to your account, you will then be able to play games and credit your account by text.

Below we describe how you can play Lotto Lucky dip numbers, your own numbers or your last numbers by text.

Play Lotto Lucky Dip By Text

You can play up to 7 lines of Lotto by Lucky Dip by text.

Simply write ‘LOTTO’ followed by ‘LUCKY’ then the number of lines you wish to play and send to 61111, e.g. ‘LOTTO LUCKY 4′.

You can select the draw you wish to be entered into by adding ‘SAT’ or ‘WED’ or ‘BOTH’ if you want to play on both days, and send to 61111, e.g. ‘LOTTO LUCKY 1 WED’ plays 1 Lucky Dip for the draw on the next Wednesday.

If you don’t add a draw day at the end of your message, your numbers will be entered into the next draw, e.g. ‘LOTTO LUCKY’ received on a Friday plays a Lucky Dip in the Saturday draw.

Play Your Own Lotto Numbers By Text

Enter ‘LOTTO’

Enter 6 numbers from 1 to 49, ensuring there is a space or comma between each number, e.g. ‘LOTTO 4 9 18 24 37 46′.

You can select the draw you wish to be entered into by adding ‘SAT’ or ‘WED’ or ‘BOTH’ if you want to play on both days.

Send to 61111.

For example ‘LOTTO 4 9 18 24 37 46′ plays the Lotto line 3 7 14 34 47 48 in the next available draw.

‘LOTTO 4 9 18 24 37 46 BOTH’ plays those numbers for the draw on the next available Saturday and Wednesday.

If you don’t add a draw day at the end of your message, your numbers will be entered into the next draw, e.g. ‘LOTTO 4 9 18 24 37 46′ received on a Monday plays those numbers in the Wednesday draw.

Play your Last Lotto Numbers By Text

Entering ‘LOTTO LAST’ will play the same numbers you last played for Lotto via text or online.
You can select the draw you wish to be entered into by adding ‘SAT’ or ‘WED’ or ‘BOTH’ if you want to play on both days.

Send to 61111.

Please note, if your Last Numbers include Lotto lines that you have chosen to Plus 5, ‘LOTTO LAST’ will only enter you into Lotto draws. If you also want to Plus 5 your Lotto lines, see Play Lotto Plus 5 By Text.

‘LOTTO LAST SAT’ plays the numbers you last played for the next available Saturday draw.

If you last played a Lucky Dip, playing Last Numbers will automatically play a new Lucky Dip selection.

If you don’t add a draw day at the end of your message, your numbers will be entered into the next draw, e.g. 

‘LOTTO LAST’ received on a Thursday plays your Last Numbers in the forthcoming Saturday draw.

If you have previously played a Lottery draw game online or by text your National Lottery account will remember the last numbers you played. You can play your last numbers by text message as above or directly online. To play online all you need to do is Sign In or open an Account, click on the ‘Play my Last Numbers’ link on the play slip and your play slip will automatically be filled with the last numbers you played, irrespective of the channel you played them on. In this way you don’t have to re-type your favourite numbers.
