Buying Your Lottery Tickets Offline

In this section we tell you how to play each of the games available through the National Lottery.

How To Play Lotto and lotto Plus 5

When playing Lotto and Lotto Plus 5 offline through a National Lottery retailer, you take a Lotto payslip and follow the instructions on the reverse. They will tell you the following:

Select 6 numbers from 1-49 or tick the Lucky Dip box to have the numbers selected for you. Each payslip allows you to make 7 individual entries on the 7 boards provided

Choose which draws (WED and/or SAT) and how many weeks you wish to play

For Lotto Plus 5 if you’ve marked the WED box, you’ll be entered into five Lotto Plus 5 draws from Thursday. If SAT is marked you’ll be entered into five Lotto Plus 5 draws from Sunday. If BOTH is marked you will be entered into five Lotto Plus 5 draws from the day after the next Lotto draw

You can now enter any or all of the entries into the Lotto Plus 5 game by marking the box in the yellow band on each board.

Lotto costs £1 per board, per draw. Lotto Plus 5 cost £1 extra per Lotto board for all five Lotto Plus 5 draws

You have to be playing Lotto to Plus 5 your Lotto numbers

The Lotto Plus 5 draws take place in between the Lotto draws

Filling In Your Lotto and Lotto plus 5 Payslip

Mark your selected boxes with a thick horizontal line e.g.

Don’t use red ink
Mark the VOID box and start again on a new board if you make a mistake on your Lotto selection

Enter your chosen Lotto draw/s up to 7 times on each payslip

Use additional payslips if you wish to enter more than 7 boards into Lotto draws

Mark the VOID box in the yellow band if you have mistakenly selected Lotto Plus 5, but don’t wish to enter the Lotto Plus 5 draws

How To Play Euromillions

When playing Euromillions offline through a National Lottery retailer, you take a Euromillions payslip and follow the instructions on the reverse. They will tell you the following:

Choose your own numbers or select Lucky Dip to have the numbers chosen for you
Choose 5 numbers from 1-50 on the main board
Choose 2 numbers from 1-11 on the Lucky Star Numbers board
Choose how many weeks you wish to play for (up to 4)
Choose to play in the Tuesday draw (TUE), the Friday draw (FRI) or both (BOTH)

Filling In Your Euromillions Payslip

Mark your selected boxes with a thick horizontal line e.g.
Don’t use red ink

Mark the VOID box and start again on a new board if you make a mistake on your Euromillions selection
Enter your chosen Euromillions draw/s up to 5 times on each payslip
Use additional payslips if you wish to enter more than 5 boards into Euromillions draws

How To Play Thunderball

When playing Thunderball offline through a National Lottery retailer, you take a Thunderball payslip and follow the instructions on the reverse. They will tell you the following:

Choose your own numbers or select Lucky Dip to have the numbers chosen for you
Choose 5 numbers from 1-39 on the main board
Choose 1 number from 1-14 on the Thunderball board
Choose how many weeks you wish to play for up to 8
Choose to play in the Wednesday draw (WED), the Friday draw (FRI), the Saturday draw (SAT), or all (ALL)

Mark the VOID box and start again on a new board if you make a mistake on your Thunderball selection
Enter your chosen Thunderball draw/s up to 6 times on each payslip
Use additional payslips if you wish to enter more than 6 boards into Thunderball draws

How To Play Lotto HotPicks

When playing Lotto HotPicks offline through a National Lottery retailer, you take a Lotto HotPicks payslip and follow the instructions on the reverse. They will tell you the following:

Choose which game you wish to play:

There are 5 games to choose from each with one way to win a prize:

Pick 1 – choose 1 number from 1-49, or select Lucky Dip
Pick 2 – choose 2 numbers from 1-49, or select Lucky Dip
Pick 3 – choose 3 numbers from 1-49, or select Lucky Dip
Pick 4 – choose 4 numbers from 1-49, or select Lucky Dip
Pick 5 – choose 5 numbers from 1-49, or select Lucky Dip

Choose which draws and how many weeks you wish to play for up to 8
There is no separate Lotto HotPicks draw – the numbers drawn for Lotto determine if you are a winner for Lotto HotPicks (depending on which Lotto HotPicks game you have chosen to play)
